Whew…it’s summer in St. Louis!

To celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary, John and I are off to see Brad Paisley tonight. It is set to be the HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR. Sweet! There’s nothing better than sweating our asses off in the hot summer sunset of St. Louis with our 99% humidity. I exagerate about the humidity level, but it is hot and muggy already and it’s only 8:15 in the morning.

For some strange reason I decided to start walking this summer. And, because I am who I am, I decided that I need a goal. What is my goal? Well, me and a couple of friends are going to do this half marathon http://www.fleetfeetstl.com/lewisandclarkmarathon/

I’m totally stoked about doing it because I’ve never done something so big. In fact, it’s been well over a decade since I voluntarily did any physical excercise on this level.  We’ve been walking several days a week to start preparing for this feat. I got some stylish new Nikes and a double jogger for Mags and Liam to ride in. Dust and Dot have been my bike escort. I really am loving this….except it keeps on heating up and staying that way longere and longer. I’d move to the treadmill, but I don’t think I’d stick to a training program on it because it is so stinking boring and it makes me feel like a gerbil running on a wheel.

  1. That is awesome! I can’t walk in this humidity. My asthma just kills me. And, you are right, walking on a treadmill is so boring.

How are you doing anyways? We haven’t talked in forever!

  2. I’m one of the few who loves to run on the “dreadmill”. I’m celebrating my one-year love affair with running and am hoping to do a half marathon either this fall or in January in Phoenix. Keep it up!!!
